Capital Accord Chorus is a fun-loving, talented group of women who meet regularly to practice, perform, and socialize. We currently have about 25 singers of all ages, all walks of life, and all parts of the Washington, DC area.
One of the main purposes of Capital Accord Chorus is to get out and sing for our community. We sing at shows, community and private events, and at annual competition. Every February, we perform Singing Valentines around the DC area. We are available to sing at your next function or event. In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. We participate in regional educational events throughout the year, and regularly bring coaches in to chorus rehearsals and retreats. .

Capital Accord Chorus participates in the Region
19 chorus competition in Ocean City, MD
. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. In 2009, International Competition will be held in Nashville.

Capital Accord Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International, a non-profit organization of approximately 30,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters are in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
